Young & United

I absolutely love the branding of this campaign.  The logo flows really well and the t-shirt designs reflect well on the audience.  They have nailed capturing their target audience, and the website printed on the back of the shirt is a brilliant way of promoting the cause.

Syliva Path Typographic Posters

Sylvia Path has taken the meaning of the passage she is showing and putting an emphasis on it through imagery.  It is a brilliant form of communication as it shows the concept twice.  It is clear and emphasises what Graphic Design is about through sheer communication.

Supin

Creating design through a broad range of media will promote the idea further.  I like the sepia theme throughout the work, and the minimal business cards keep the design fresh and easy on the eye.  Along with simple imagery that can be used as part of the identity, the whole thing will be easily recognisable.

Sliced Bread Notebook

A simple idea executed in a brilliant way.  I like how the notebooks are as simple as bread and replicate what they are trying to look like in an effective fashion.  Portraying something as something else is a key selling point as it's quirky and fun in a collectable way.

Romulus Milk

The way the images are set out corresponds to what they are advertising in a clear way.  The black background brings out the white of the milk, and brings out the meaning perfectly.  Black on white, and it would portray oil more than anything and would be ineffective.  A good choice of colours.

I did, alter

Really nice design because of the stock it is printed on, and the way it is allowed to breathe.  It communicates well because it is visually pleasing to look at.  Without the negative space it would fail as it would be too busy and the reader would not know where to look first.

Superhero Posters

Some good illustrations, but I think the type hinders them at times.  The focus should be on the image and the type should complement it nicely.  I think it is important to consider this when using type and image as visual harmony is the key to getting a piece of design to work.  If the type was used on a smaller scale, I think it would be more effective.

Tang Yau Hoong

The use of negative space here is really interesting as it can be used to interlace two images together in an effective way.  The night and day contrast on the top image means it can be seen in two ways at the same time, it tricks the eye but is intriguing all the same.  I think the images that are framed in another image are an effective way of communicating as they convey two meanings out of one image.

Camper Star Logo

I appreciate the textures on the logos as they communicate old times: vintage Graphic Design.  Communicating this is difficult but the colours used make it feel nostalgic, and promote an emotion on viewers.  This will give them an uplifting feeling and a positive response from the company, before even reading anything into them.

Life Calendar

What a brilliant way to get users to interact with design.  Promoting their own influence on the work will make them feel even more attached to the design and will give them a positive outlook on what they're dealing with.

"Sucker For Soccer"

These football posters have an extremely vintage quality to them, and are very nostalgic.  I like how Lucic has recreated this style for modern players such as Tevez, and proves that these designs are timeless.

Honest Logos

This designer plays around with recognition, and twists it to communicate something else.  He focuses on what the product actually does, and uses the existing style to make it an effective counter.  It makes people think about what these products actually do, and may open people's eyes.  It's an effective piece of awareness design.
